Today was a very relaxed day spent in our pj’s, watching t.v., napping and playing with Lucas’s Christmas presents. Pap Pap came over and spent the day lounging with us.

This year we celebrated Christmas Eve at Aunt Bebs house. We got together with Aunt Bebs, Pap Pap, Uncle Vinnie, Aunt Stacey, Aunt Jan, Uncle John and of course, Jadyn and Johnny to enjoy good food, lots of presents and tons of laughs. The highlight of the evening was when we (ok, me!) opened Lucas’s pack of bouncy house balls and started throwing them at everyone J

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUCAS!

We can’t believe that Lucas is already one year old! The time has flown by and we are continually amazed and surprised every day by our little guy. At one year, he is eating solid foods, drinking his whole ‘bunk’ from a sippy cup (no more bottle) and still growing like crazy. He now weighs 23 pounds, 10 ounces and is 31 inches tall. He is wearing 12 month clothes, but not for too much longer. His legs are long and don’t fit into the pants anymore and we can’t for the life of us, figure out how to get shoes to stay on his feet! He isn’t walking on his own yet, but will still stumble back and forth in his playpen or cruise with his walker. He is always happy and playful and will giggle or wink at you when he’s excited. His favorite toys are his lantern that sings and lights up, anything that makes noise, and like his Mama, he loves books. He is really into details and trying to figure out how things work. As always, his Daddy is his best friend and his Mama is still his favorite girl ;)

Today was Lucas’s 1^st birthday party. The Backyardigans decorations, cake and all the little details came out awesome. We had a really amazing day with all of our family and friends, near and far. Lucas loved all the attention and clapped after everyone sang Happy Birthday. He enjoyed his cake and took his time eating it. He didn’t smash it in his face or hair, but instead, tried to pick off the sprinkles ONE AT A TIME! By the time we got to opening presents, he was so tired that he just wasn’t interested. He did manage to eat a piece of wrapping paper tho.

Today Miss Lori and I took Lucas to the mall to get his one year pics taken and also to go see Santa (fyi - Thursday at noon = NO LINE!). And no, that red outfit doesn't fit him. You should've seen us trying to squeeze him into it! Poor kid!

Happy Thanksgiving! Today we got see some of Mama’s side of the family and some of Daddy’s side of the family. We visited with Auntie Tina, Uncle George, Cousins George and Matt and of course, Nana. Then we took a detour on the way to Pap Pap’s house and went to see Lake Erie. It was windy and we only stayed for a bit. We will definitely have to come back when the weather is nicer. Then we drove out to Pap Pap’s, almost losing a tire on the way! Not to worry, because once we got there, Lucas was ready to try out that new 8^th tooth on some turkey, mashed potatoes, rolls, pickles, green bean casserole, stuffing, and of course, his new favorite…black olives! He washed it all down with some bunk from a sippy cup! Then after dinner, Lucas and Daddy passed out in a turkey coma J The rest of our visit was spent playing with Pap Pap and Aunt Bebs.
